How to unsubscribe from comments

A few readers have asked how to unsubscribe from comments. When you subscribe to comments (by checking the subscribe box at the bottom of the comment form) you get an email each time another person comments, which makes it pleasantly conversational. Until you find yourself subscribed to a post with hundreds of comments (like this $100 Amazon contest post). Who wants to get 409 emails in the span of a few hours? Not me!

So, to unsubscribe from a comment thread open any email about a new comment. Look at the bottom of the email for this:

http://www.......

Click the link from your email and on the page that opens look for:

Subscriptions

[email protected] is subscribed to the posts listed below. To unsubscribe to one or more posts, click the checkbox next to the title, then click “Remove Selected Subscription(s)” at the bottom of the list.

Invert Checkbox Selection

Check the box, then click “Remove Selected Subscriptions. ” You will not receive any more emails with comments on that post. Got any questions? Let me know and I’ll do my best to answer them!
