When I had a newborn who slept for hours, I loved to search the web and investigate great deals. Fast-forward a year, and now I spend most of my time trying to keep a toddler from dancing on the coffee table and pulling lamps down on her head. I’m definitely missing the time I used to have to find ways to save money on baby stuff, but I recently came across a great website that helps with the effort.
brings together deals, coupons, reviews, and ideas for saving on needs and wants to keep down the cost of raising kids. It’s one-stop-shopping for finding deals on baby stuff!
Baby Cheapskate can be broken down into three main categories:
- Articles on a variety of topics, in categories such as Nursery, DIY, Carseats, Cloth Diapering (and many more). Each category aggregates blog posts with tips and tricks for finding the best deals on items, as well as how to shop smart: knowing what features are important and which are just taking your money like candy from a baby.
- Deals on baby stuff. This includes not only current sales and coupons from a number of popular retailers, but also info about past lowest prices so that you know what price is really a steal on a particular item when you find it. There’s also a Predictions breakdown that details when the best prices are likely to be available on categories of items.
- Toys that Get Played With lists, covering the most-loved and useful toys for children from 6 months to 7 years. This really helps me know what types of toys my daughter may grow into so that I can keep an eye out for them at Goodwill and consignment sales and know when I’m getting a deal on something she’s likely to use, instead of spending money on something that is more likely to sit, unused, in the corner.
The site is easy to navigate and search, as well as entertaining and informative to peruse. Baby Cheapskate makes money via display ads and provides links to deals and retailers, they do not sell baby items directly. Site owner Angie Wynne has been blogging about baby deals since 2005 with a mission to aggregate baby bargains, and the site is updated several times a day, so there’s always something new to check out.
