The third runner up is
…Joan ([email protected])
We were on a trip out of state recently, and a young 16 year old driver drove too fast around the curve by our house and destroyed our large brick mailbox structure. The street was littered with dozens of bricks. Our neighbor, who is an elementary principal, ran out to see if anyone was hurt. Finding that the boy was fine, but trying to leave, our neighbor made the boy stay until the police came. The boy’s father also arrived on the scene, and our neighbor said, “You are going to replace this mailbox, correct?? The father agreed and got a contractor to rebuild the brick structure and replace the mailbox. Our neighbor went on Google Earth to show the contractor what the mailbox originally looked like! He sent us email photos to make sure we were satisfied with the workmanship of the contractor. By the time we returned from our trip, we had a new mailbox in a beautiful brick structure. Our neighbor made sure we were treated fairly, and went way beyond the realm of neighborly kindness!
The second runner up is…Bob C ([email protected])
My neighbor saved my rooster’s life. My rooster was “˜ganged up on’ by some other roosters. He limped over into my neighbors yard. He was acting very weak and sickly. My neighbor came over to my house and informed me of my roosters’ poor condition. I rescued my rooster from my neighbors’ yard and nursed him back to health again. What great neighbors!
The first runner up is…Deborah Kubala ([email protected])
MY neighbors do small things like take out my garbage to keep me living independently with muscular dystrophy. I return the favor by filling out their food stamp and heap paperwork, as they are seniors. We all love helping each other whenever we can:)
And the winner is…Pam ([email protected])
In April I got very sick and needed to go to the hospital. My car wouldn’t start. I called my neighbor for a jumpstart. He and his wife came over. One look at me and she said “˜get in the car please I’m taking you to the hospital now!’ I ended up needing 4 units of blood. She probably saved my life.
